Coin Graders' Antitrust Suit V. EBay, Others Tossed

Law360, New York (March 9, 2011, 6:17 PM EST) -- A federal judge in California threw out a class action Tuesday that accused eBay Inc. and a coin graders' group of scheming to keep competitors out of the online market, saying the alleged behavior was not per se anti-competitive.

Judge Ronald M. Whyte of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California nixed all 13 claims against eBay and the Professional Numismatists' Guild Inc., tossing four with prejudice and giving plaintiff Universal Grading Service LLC 20 days to amend the other nine.
