Cadwalader Tries To Sink $70M Nomura Malpractice Suit

Law360 (March 9, 2011, 2:59 PM EST) -- Cadwalader Wickersham & Taft LLP last Wednesday urged a New York judge to trash Nomura Asset Capital Corp.’s $70M malpractice suit over the firm’s advice on the securitization of commercial mortgages.

Cadwalader asked Judge Melvin Schweitzer to grant summary judgment against Nomura’s malpractice claims in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York, contending that the firm dutifully performed its tasks and left Nomura to weigh the risks of originating and securitizing large commercial loans.
