Guatemalans Infected With Syphilis Want US To Pay

Law360 (March 14, 2011, 5:39 PM EDT) -- Guatemalans secretly infected by the U.S. government with syphilis in the 1940s and their surviving family members filed a class action Monday in Washington seeking reparations.

The complaint, filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, follows unsuccessful attempts by attorneys for the plaintiffs to negotiate an out-of-court settlement with the U.S.
