Kansas Atty Cops To $2.5M Investment Scheme

Law360, New York (March 14, 2011, 8:43 PM EDT) -- A Kansas attorney on Monday admitted to orchestrating a $2.5 million fraud under which he promised to use investor money to fund a fictitious bank acquisition in Beaumont, Texas.

Clifford R. Roth pled guilty in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas to one count of a criminal information charging him with interstate transportation of funds by fraud, according to the U.S. attorney’s office.
