Sony, Staples, Others Face Web Sales Patent Suit

Law360, New York (March 16, 2011, 1:28 PM EDT) -- A patent-holding company on Tuesday sued Sony Corp., Neiman Marcus Inc., Staples Inc. and others in Texas, alleging infringement of several patents for online sales and remote data storage technology.

Charles E. Hill & Associates Inc. filed the suit in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas, claiming that the defendants operate electronic catalogs that infringe five of its patents.
