Death Row Seeks Quick Win In Dr. Dre Royalties Suit

Law360, New York (March 16, 2011, 3:21 PM EDT) -- Record label Wideawake Death Row Entertainment LLC moved for summary judgment Tuesday in a California royalty dispute with label founder Dr. Dre, arguing the rap legend suffered no damages as a result of the alleged contract breach.

Wideawake, which bought the bankrupt Death Row Records in 2009, argued the equitable relief being sought by Dr. Dre in his suit was barred by the terms of the purchase contract, according to the motion filed in in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California....
