Convicted Army Major, Wife Seek New Bribery Trial

Law360, New York (March 16, 2011, 3:13 PM EDT) -- A U.S. Army major and his wife asked an Alabama judge Tuesday for acquittal and a new trial on their conviction of conspiring to accept $2.8 million in bribes in exchange for contracts in Iraq and Kuwait.

Eddie Pressley, a former Army contracting officer, filed the acquittal motion in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Alabama, saying the government failed to prove "each and every element" of its conspiracy, bribery, wire fraud and money laundering allegations.
