Calif. Dog Food Impresario Admits To Tax Evasion

Law360, New York (March 18, 2011, 12:39 PM EDT) -- A Riverside County, Calif., politician and dog food executive admitted Thursday to lying to the FBI when he told investigators that his company, Earth Elements Inc., made no money in 2002 and 2003 when it collected millions of dollars in settlements.

Jeffrey Bennett, who formerly served as mayor of the city of Corona, Calif., admitted in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California that he failed to file tax returns for those gains.
