US Asks Court To Quash Subpoenas In Walsh Hearing

Law360, New York (March 18, 2011, 6:55 PM EDT) -- Federal prosecutors on Friday asked a New York judge to quash any attempt by Stephen Walsh, an investor accused of misusing millions of dollars in commodity pool clients' money, to subpoena government witnesses in a pretrial hearing.

The government has been advised that attorneys for Walsh intend to subpoena former WG Trading Co. and Westridge Capital Management Inc. colleagues Paul Greenwood and Deborah Duffy, but the defense cannot turn the hearing into a “dress rehearsal” for the trial, prosecutors argued in a memorandum of law filed...
