Canadian Helicopter Co. Sues DOD Over FOIA Request

Law360, New York (March 21, 2011, 1:11 PM EDT) -- A Canadian helicopter company contracting with U.S. military forces in Afghanistan sued the U.S. Department of Defense in Washington on Thursday over the planned release of confidential contract provisions, saying competitors could use the information in future bids.

Canadian Commercial Corp. and subcontractor Canadian Helicopters Ltd. filed their complaint in the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia, seeking to block a Freedom of Information Act request for detailed information on a helicopter transportation contract worth an estimated $360 million.
