Ex-UBS Banker Gets 2 Years For Insider Tips

Law360, New York (March 21, 2011, 4:55 PM EDT) -- Former UBS Securities LLC banker Igor Poteroba was sentenced to nearly two years' imprisonment in New York on Monday for providing insider tips to friends about deals involving UBS clients.

Judge Paul A. Crotty called Poteroba a “good son, a good father and a good member of his community” during a sentencing hearing in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York, noting that the defendant had spent his time in a federal detention center providing mentoring and tutoring services to other inmates....
