BT Loses Overcharges Appeal In UK Competition Court

Law360, New York (March 23, 2011, 5:27 PM EDT) -- A U.K. court on Tuesday affirmed that the country's communication regulator did not abuse its authority when it found that British phone giant BT Group PLC overcharged wireless providers £41.7 million ($68.3 million) for network services.

The Competition Appeal Tribunal in London swatted down BT’s claim that Ofcom misused the dispute resolution process by requiring the company to pay back the amount it had overcharged a group of communications providers, including Virgin Media Ltd. and Verizon UK Ltd., for access to private process circuits.
