Purdue Sues Watson Over Generic OxyContin

Law360, New York (March 28, 2011, 1:35 PM EDT) -- Purdue Pharma LP is challenging a bid by Watson Pharmaceuticals Inc. and its subsidiaries to market a generic version of the painkiller OxyContin, launching lawsuits in Florida, New York state and Delaware.

With the three lawsuits filed Wednesday and Thursday, Purdue seeks to prevent Watson from making and selling a generic version of Oxycodone Hydrochloride Extended-Release tablets in the 10,15, 20, 30, 40, 60 and 80 milligram strengths.
