AT&T's T-Mobile Buy Is Anti-Competitive, Sprint Says

Law360, New York (March 28, 2011, 6:26 PM EDT) -- Sprint Nextel Corp. came out Monday to officially oppose AT&T Inc.'s plan to purchase T-Mobile USA Inc., saying the $39 billion deal could reverse three decades of effort to modernize and increase competition in the U.S. communications market.

“Sprint urges the U.S. government to block this anti-competitive acquisition,” said Vonya McCann, senior vice-president of government affairs at Sprint Nextel. “This transaction will harm consumers and harm competition at a time when this country can least afford it ...
