Banks To Take TJX To Court Over Data Breach

Law360, New York (April 26, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Massachusetts Bankers Association is gearing up to file suit against retailer TJX Companies Inc. on behalf of hundreds of banks that are upset over a security breach that allegedly enabled criminals to steal 45 million credit and debit card numbers from the company’s computers.

On Tuesday, the MBA revealed that it intended to sue TJX in the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, joined by the Connecticut Bankers Association and the Maine Association of Community Banks as co-plaintiffs.
