Tesoro Workers Win Class Cert. In Meal Break Suit

Law360, New York (March 30, 2011, 5:03 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge on Monday certified a class of Tesoro Refining & Marketing Co. refinery employees who claim the petroleum company denied them proper meal breaks on 12-hour shifts.

Judge Valerie Baker Fairbank of the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said that the 200 refinery workers who are now part of the class had enough in common to warrant class treatment.
