Lloyd's, Others Sue Exxon Over NJ Cleanup Coverage

Law360 (March 31, 2011, 9:27 PM EDT) -- A group of London insurers, including Lloyd's of London underwriters, sued Exxon Mobil Corp. Thursday in New York, asking the court to decide who will ultimately pay for an environmental cleanup in New Jersey.

Exxon agreed in a 2000 settlement deal that it would indemnify its London insurers in a complicated coverage battle related to a New Jersey brownfield, the insurers claimed in a complaint filed in the Supreme Court of the State of New York, County of New York.

Now the insurers are being sued...
