Rigas Family Gets $600,000 For Legal Fees

Law360, New York (April 27, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal bankruptcy judge has approved the advancement of another $600,000 to the Rigas family, the disgraced founders of Adelphia Communications Corp., for legal costs that mounted over its role in the company’s collapse.

Judge Robert Garber granted brothers Michael and James Rigas $300,000 apiece on Thursday. The order came just less than a month after Garber had given the family another $600,000 for legal fees. John Rigas, Adelphia’s former chief executive, and his sons have already requested over $10 million in fees, Dow Jones reported....
