Movie Studios Hit DVD Streaming Co. With IP Suit

Law360, New York (April 4, 2011, 8:20 PM EDT) -- Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc. and five other major movie studios teamed up to sue recently launched DVD-streaming service Zediva on Friday in California for allegedly violating copyrights through unauthorized "performances" of their films.

The studios accused WTV Systems LLC, which operates as Zediva, WTV Systems Inc. and Zediva's founder and CEO Venkatesh Srinivasan of illegally streaming movies without required licensing in a suit filed in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California.
