Securitas Unit Settles Guard Billing Fight For $9M

Law360, New York (April 5, 2011, 1:26 PM EDT) -- A German affiliate of Securitas AB has agreed to pay $9.1 million to settle allegations that it overcharged the U.S. government for security services at military bases in Germany, the U.S. Department of Justice said Tuesday.

The payment from Securitas GmbH Werkschutz resolved a number of lawsuits in the U.S. Court of Federal Claims that were dismissed on March 30. Securitas also agreed to drop $5.7 million of its own claims as part of the settlement, the DOJ said.
