Pfizer Securities Fraud Suit Must Stay In NJ: Judge

Law360 (April 5, 2011, 7:43 PM EDT) -- A federal judge on Tuesday rejected an attempt by Pfizer Inc. to move one of three securities fraud lawsuits over an Alzheimer's treatment drug to New York, leaving the class action to proceed in New Jersey.

Magistrate Judge Madeline Cox Arleo ruled that Pfizer, which acquired defendant Wyeth in 2009, had not shown that public and private interests would be better served if the case was transferred to New York from the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
