New Century Creditors Investigate Its Collapse

Law360, New York (April 30, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Bankrupt subprime lender New Century Financial Corp.’s official committee of unsecured creditors has made moves to investigate the company both before and after its collapse.

On Friday, the creditors filed a motion with the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware asking for permission to obtain and examine New Century’s corporate documents under Bankruptcy rules 2004 and 9016. The creditors are hoping to investigate the events leading up to the lender’s bankruptcy.
