UAW May Ready Counteroffer In Delphi Bankruptcy

Law360, New York (May 1, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The United Auto Workers union may be preparing a new proposal between it and bankrupt auto parts company Delphi Corp. over wages and benefits, which may finally overcome the biggest obstacle to Delphi’s exit from Chapter 11.

Two unnamed sources familiar with the ongoing labor talks said that the UAW would deliver a “comprehensive” proposal at a meeting later this week, the Detroit News reported on Tuesday.
