Sensus Settles Eon Mobile Communications IP Suit

Law360, New York (April 12, 2011, 6:18 PM EDT) -- Smart grid equipment manufacturer Sensus USA Inc. has settled Eon Corp.'s wide-ranging Texas suit accusing a number of technology companies of infringing a patent for wireless technology that allows mobile devices to access different communications networks, the companies said Tuesday.

As part of the deal, Sensus has licensed Eon's legacy patent portfolio of Eon engineer Gil Dinkins' inventions, the companies said. Eon in turn moved to dismiss its claims in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Texas on Tuesday as well.
