Texas Firm Sued Over Knowledge Of Stanford Ponzi

Law360, New York (April 13, 2011, 8:38 PM EDT) -- A real estate company filed a more than $10 million malpractice suit against its former law firm, Andrews Kurth LLP, Monday in Texas, saying the firm hid that office tenant Stanford Group Holdings Inc. was operating a Ponzi scheme.

Walton Houston Galleria Office LP, which owned the office towers that housed Stanford's operations, ended up in years of costly litigation that could have been avoided had Andrews Kurth been loyal to it, Walton said in a complaint filed in the District Court of Harris County, Texas....
