Senate Committee Advances Bid Protest Bill

Law360, New York (April 14, 2011, 1:10 PM EDT) -- A Senate committee on Wednesday approved legislation that would extend the U.S. Government Accountability Office's jurisdiction to hear protests of certain task and delivery order contracts before it expires in May.

S. 498, the Independent Task and Delivery Order Review Extension Act of 2011, was reported out on a voice vote by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs. It is sponsored by Sen. Susan Collins, R-Maine, the committee's ranking Republican, along with co-sponsors Sens. Claire McCaskill, D-Mo., and Rob Portman, R-Ohio.
