FTC Says $600M Kirby, K-Sea Deal Fit For Launch

Law360 (April 14, 2011, 1:55 PM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission granted early termination Wednesday to its antitrust review of Kirby Corp.'s $600 million acquisition of barge and tugboat operator K-Sea Transportation Partners LP.

The FTC said it had accepted the companies' request for an early termination, meaning the agency has completed its antitrust review of the deal under the Hart-Scott-Rodino Act and decided not to take any enforcement action during the statutory waiting period.
