FCC Launches Review Of $39B AT&T, T-Mobile Merger

Law360 (April 15, 2011, 3:22 PM EDT) -- The Federal Communications Commission on Thursday opened a docket to review the effect of AT&T Inc.'s proposed $39 billion takeover of T-Mobile USA Inc. on consumers in the wireless market.

The FCC will review the merger, which would shrink the number of competitors in the wireless market to three, in concert with U.S. Department of Justice's antitrust division. The docket number is WT Docket No. 11-65.
