Palm Settles Calif. OT Action For $1.9M

Law360, New York (April 18, 2011, 4:08 PM EDT) -- A California state judge on Friday approved a $1.9 million settlement between Palm Inc. and a group of software engineers who claimed they were denied overtime pay and meal breaks.

The settlement brings to a close litigation launched in February 2010 by software test and quality assurance engineers who claim they were wrongly classified as exempt from California overtime rules.

California Superior Court Judge Joseph H. Huber ruled that the settlement, which will garner the plaintiffs' attorneys some $570,000 in fees and $26,000 in expenses, was...
