Tyco Unit Slapped With Wage Action In Calif.

Law360, New York (April 22, 2011, 2:34 PM EDT) -- Tyco International Ltd. unit SimplexGrinnell LP was hit with a proposed class action in federal court Monday claiming that the fire alarm and sprinkler system company doesn't pay workers prevailing wages for public works projects in California, a violation of state law.

The suit, filed on behalf of six laborers who installed firm alarms and performed other work for SimplexGrinnell, claims that the company failed to pay them per diem wages, including overtime and benefits, required by the California Prevailing Wage Law.
