Mattel Stole MGA's Bratz Trade Secrets, Jury Says

Law360, New York (April 21, 2011, 2:00 PM EDT) -- Mattel Inc. misappropriated trade secrets related to MGA Entertainment Inc.'s Bratz line of dolls — not the other way around — a federal jury in California ruled Thursday, reversing a previous verdict and delivering an $88.4 million victory to MGA.

In a Santa Ana, Calif., federal courtroom packed with lawyers, press, media relations representatives, federal marshals and family members of MGA founder Isaac Larian, a panel of eight jurors repudiated the July ruling and dealt a stunning blow to Mattel.
