Feds Seek 27-Month Sentence For Ill. Contractor

Law360 (April 21, 2011, 6:46 PM EDT) -- A businessman who admittedly rigged a bid for a $1.7 million contract to repair garbage carts in Chicago deserved a relatively lenient 27-month prison term because he helped convict his partner, prosecutors told an Illinois federal court Wednesday.

Prosecutors sought to spare Urban Services of American Inc. co-owner Douglas E. Ritter from a sentence of between 41 and 51 months after he copped to a conspiracy charge last summer, citing his cooperation in convicting his partner Steven Fenzl on four counts of mail and wire fraud....
