Jacobs Workers Win Class Cert. In Wage-And-Hour Suit

Law360, New York (April 21, 2011, 8:30 PM EDT) -- A group of current and former Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. scaffolding builders at the BP PLC refinery in Texas City, Texas, won conditional class certification Thursday in a wage-and-hour suit against the engineering firm.

Jacobs and the plaintiffs — ex-scaffolding workers who say the company did not pay them for attending mandatory safety meetings — must begin drafting a notice that will go out to class members, U.S. Magistrate Judge John R. Froeschner said in a one-page order.
