Gates Backs $35B Tanker Despite Proposed $400B Cut

Law360, New York (April 22, 2011, 2:14 PM EDT) -- U.S. Secretary of Defense Robert Gates voiced support Thursday for the $35 billion acquisition of new aerial refueling tankers and the replacement of aging surface ships despite the president's directive last week to cut $400 billion in security spending.
