High Court Won't Hear Text Messaging Antitrust Case

Law360, New York (April 25, 2011, 2:37 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to review a Seventh Circuit decision that greenlighted a putative class action accusing Verizon Wireless LLC, AT&T Mobility LLC, Sprint Nextel Corp. and T-Mobile USA Inc. of conspiring to fix prices for text messaging.

The cellphone companies' petition for writ of certiorari said the plaintiffs' second amended complaint failed to meet the heightened pleading standards the Supreme Court laid out in Bell Atlantic Corp. v. Twombly and Ashcroft v. Iqbal.
