Army Major, Wife Can't Shake Bribery Convictions

Law360, New York (April 26, 2011, 4:05 PM EDT) -- A U.S. Army major convicted of taking $2.8 million in bribes in exchange for contracts in Iraq and Kuwait will not get a new trial or an acquittal, an Alabama federal judge said Monday.

U.S. District Judge Virginia Emerson Hopkins threw out seven separate motions in which Eddie Pressley, a former Army contracting officer, and his wife Eurica sought to undo their convictions.
