Shirelles Member Sues Warner Over 'Baby It's You'

Law360, New York (April 27, 2011, 4:39 PM EDT) -- "Baby It's You," a new Broadway musical produced by Warner Bros. about the 1960s pop act The Shirelles, uses the group's name and likenesses without permission, according to a suit filed Tuesday in New York state court.

The complaint was filed the day before the show's official opening night by Shirelles member Beverly Lee, the estates of deceased members Doris Coley Jackson and Addie Harris McFadden, and singers Dionne Warwick and Chuck Jackson, who shared a record label with The Shirelles.
