Par Pharmaceutical Settles Medicaid Suits For $154M

Law360, New York (April 27, 2011, 10:43 PM EDT) -- Par Pharmaceutical Companies Inc. said Wednesday that it will pay $154 million to settle allegations brought by state attorneys general and a whistleblower pharmacy in Texas, Florida and other states that it inflated its drug prices for Medicaid.

The settlement would resolve claims brought under state and federal law by whistleblower Ven-A-Care of the Florida Keys Inc. on behalf of the U.S., Texas and Florida in addition to suits launched by attorneys general of Alaska, South Carolina and Kentucky.
