Mechanic Says L-3 Unit Violated FCA By Canning Him

Law360, New York (April 29, 2011, 7:29 PM EDT) -- A former Army Fleet Support LLC mechanic sued the aircraft maintenance company in Alabama on Thursday, claiming he was fired in violation of the False Claims Act for raising concerns that Air Fleet was fraudulently billing the government.

Attorney Adam M. Porter lodged the complaint on behalf of Curt Alfrey, who alleges that Army Fleet, a subsidiary of L-3 Communications Holdings Inc., violated the retaliation provision of the FCA by firing him for reporting the alleged billing fraud to government and company representatives at the U.S....
