Judge Trims Experts' Testimony In Lime Wire Case

Law360, New York (May 2, 2011, 7:45 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge struck some expert testimony Monday from the upcoming damages trial for file-sharing company Lime Wire LLC, including testimony that damages wouldn't deter users who download copyrighted songs through the peer-to-peer network.

In May 2010, U.S. District Judge Kimba M. Wood ruled that Lime Wire and company Chairman Mark Gorton were liable for copyright infringement and other claims brought by 13 major record labels. The dispute has now entered the damages phase, and jury selection is slated to begin Tuesday.
