Unum Group Settles 401(k) Class Action

Law360, New York (May 8, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Unum Group, the largest disability insurance company in the world, has settled a class action brought by the beneficiaries of a 401(k) retirement plan, the company disclosed Monday.

The settlement, which is still subject to independent fiduciary review, notice to the proposed class and court approval, will not have a material effect on its finances, Unum said in a filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission.

The amount of the settlement wasn’t disclosed.
