4 Found Guilty In $5.2M Medicare Fraud Scheme

Law360, New York (May 4, 2011, 8:26 PM EDT) -- A Texas federal jury on Wednesday convicted four defendants of participating in a $5.2 million Medicare fraud scheme that involved filing claims for medically unnecessary skilled nursing.

To date, 11 individuals have been found guilty or have pled guilty to playing a role in the scam, which operated through defunct Houston-based home health care company Family Healthcare Group from April 2006 to August 2009, according to the U.S. Department of Justice.
