Pentagon Ups Scrutiny Of Personal Services Contracts

Law360, New York (May 6, 2011, 7:19 PM EDT) -- The U.S. Department of Defense adopted a final rule Thursday aimed at helping contracting officers oversee and distinguish personal and nonpersonal services contracts.

The new rule implements a provision of the fiscal year 2009 defense spending bill and amends the Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation System to compel DOD agencies to increase oversight of awarding and carrying out personal services contracts, according to a notice in the Federal Register.
