Exxon Seeks Injunction Against Web Domain Buyer

Law360, New York (May 9, 2007, 12:00 AM EDT) -- ExxonMobil Corp. claims that it is the latest victim of a habitual Internet domain name trademark infringer, which allegedly is profiting from the oil giant’s XOM trademark and confusing its employees by running a Web site with a domain name similar to the company’s pension plan site.

ExxonMobil filed a suit Monday against Texas International Property Associates, claiming that the company is running the site www.xomsavingscsplans.com with the “bad faith intent to profit from ExxonMobil’s marks.”
