Hyatt Sales Execs Win Initial Class Cert. In OT Suit

Law360, New York (May 10, 2011, 1:40 PM EDT) -- A California federal judge granted conditional class certification Monday in a suit alleging Hyatt Vacation Marketing Corp. failed to pay minimum wage and overtime to real estate agents who sell its vacation properties.

The suit, filed in October, claims the compensation plan for Hyatt Vacation sales executives does not comply with Fair Labor Standards Act regulations. Sales executives sell interests in six Hyatt vacation club properties in Florida, Colorado, California, and Arizona.
