Subcontractor Sues Travelers, Others For $2M

Law360, New York (May 10, 2011, 1:58 PM EDT) -- A subcontractor on a federal fiber-optic project in Washington state sued Travelers Casualty and Surety Co. of America and two contractors in federal court Monday, seeking nearly $2 million for horizontal drilling work at the site.

Idaho-based Black Pine Directional Inc. said it hadn't been paid a cent for its labor on the fiber-optic upgrade project on Augspurger Mountain in southwest Washington, even though its higher-than-anticipated costs were justified, according to the complaint.
