Too Early To Rule On Diamond Coverage Row, Judge Says

Law360, New York (May 11, 2011, 6:41 PM EDT) -- A New York federal judge on Tuesday refused to hand an early victory to either Lazare Kaplan International Inc. or a group of insurance companies in a $640 million coverage dispute over lost Angolan diamonds.

Judge Miriam Goldman Cedarbaum denied one motion for partial summary judgment filed by Lazare Kaplan, and another motion for partial summary judgment filed by Swiss Re International SE, SR International Business Insurance Co. Ltd., Lloyd's of London and The Marine Insurance Co. Ltd., saying they were premature.
