Barclays Settles Online Data Encryption IP Suit

Law360, New York (May 11, 2011, 7:25 PM EDT) -- Barclays Bank PLC on Tuesday settled a Texas patent infringement lawsuit targeting banks and major credit card companies over technology related to an online encrypted data transmission method, becoming the final defendant to exit the case.

U.S. District Judge T. John Ward signed off on Barclays and TQP Development LLC's stipulated motion for dismissal with prejudice pursuant to the settlement agreement they signed April 25, which calls for each company to bear its own attorneys' fees and costs.
