Insurers, Contractors Owe $6M For Court Project: Suit

Law360, New York (May 12, 2011, 3:38 PM EDT) -- Steel construction subcontractor Structural Services Inc. sued contractors and bond insurers involved in a Texas federal courthouse project Wednesday for allegedly breaching their contracts by refusing to pay the plaintiff $5.7 million.

SSI contends that it is owed the sum for its work in the construction of an El Paso, Texas, district courthouse under a 2006 contract with Houston-based Myrex Industries Inc. SSI says Montgomery, Ala.-based prime contractor Caddell Construction Co. Inc. also owes about $19,190.
