Freshfields, Mayer Brown Rep Yum In $861M Hot Pot Deal

Law360, New York (May 13, 2011, 2:42 PM EDT) -- Fast food giant Yum Brands Inc., owner of the KFC, Pizza Hut and Taco Bell chains, said Friday its Chinese unit had offered $861 million to take private a Mongolian-themed hot pot restaurant chain owned by Hong Kong's Little Sheep Group Ltd.

Betting on China's enormous profit potential, Yum Brands said its offer of HK$6.50 (83 cents) per share marked a 30 percent premium over Little Sheep's stock price as of April 21.
